In the heart of one of Britain's most beautiful seaside towns our Anglican congregation has been joyfully serving the local community since 1843 and faithfully offering worship to God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are welcoming church, ecumenical, spiritual, catholic and evangelical.
Salcombe is by its nature a very close-knit community and it this is also reflected in the congregational life. This short video gives a flavour of our worshipping community in Salcombe and was made with help from the children of Salcombe Church of England Primary School.
Baptised into Christ Jesus
There can be all sorts of misnomers about baptism (sometimes called 'Christening') and who can and cannot be initiated into the Church. First, there is no cost to a baptism, unlike weddings and funerals which have an official Church of England fee. Secondly, anyone can be baptised, young or old. There is no age limit. Thirdly, you do not have to live in the area to be baptised in our church. What we ask is that you are willing to make those first steps in faith and affirm that God is working in your life.
What we can offer
Since 1843 our parish church has served the people of Salcombe with by joy reaching out to all members of the local town and our many visitors with the love of Jesus Christ. As part of the Diocese of Exeter and the Church of England we have regular Sunday worship usualy at 8am, 10am and 6.30pm. The church building was reodered to provide a space is stunningly contemporary while in keeping with the traditional feel of its Victorian heritage. We hope this interior reflects our ethos of bring out things new and and old (Matthew 13.52).
